A profile is one mother folder: a company, a department, "gmail ads". It owns its raw material, its markdown, and its layers.
Drop this week's data here. Emails, chat exports, CRM csv, PDFs, Word, Excel, scans. Files land in tier 1 untouched and get a markdown version in tier 2 immediately. Nothing leaves this machine.

Files
Tier 1 raw files are never modified; each gets a Tier 2 markdown copy for annotation. Drops convert automatically — convert re-syncs files added outside the console and retries failures.

Layers
Each layer is one annotated graph built from a subset of this profile's data. Unlocked layers stay editable; locked layers are frozen until you unlock them.
